Have Americans Come to Accept 10% Unemployment

Have Americans Come to Accept 10% Unemployment

by David Levitt

Easy quick ways to make money online

It hasn't been that long ago that 3 to 4% unemployment in America was not only not tolerated by the rank and file, average Joe American, but simply would have had politicians scurrying for a fix or running for cover. However, for the last 4 to 5 years, now a rate of 10%, and at times higher, has barely raised a peep, much less mayhem in the streets looking for heads to roll. Begging one to ask the question, have Americans come to accept 10% unemployment?

After a solid year of steady, yet not overwhelming growth in the manufacturing and financial markets, signifying a moderate yet unquestioned growth in the economy, unemployment seems to be the only area in the recovery that has not budged. Only recently as shareholders stock has remained stagnant, because it relies on these companies growth to mature, has the need to increase labor to increase growth come up.

Yes, there has been clamoring in the streets, but the shrill cries of debatable social issues, directed by the same politicians and business interests that got us into this deficit, debt, travesty, to begin with, totally drowned out the interests of those most effected by the economies collapse, the unemployed. You must then be tempted to ask yourself the question, have Americans come to accept 10% unemployment?

As congress came riding to the rescue of the institutions that created this havoc, creating an even larger debt than had ever been undertaken before, much in the same manner as was instituted to help mitigate the misfortunes during the "Great Depression", this was not the same pony being ridden by Teddy Roosevelt.

In a reverse psychology type tactic, the goal was to increase the debt, and spread the expenditure throughout the citizenry, through job creation, to help people keep their homes that were being lost in record numbers, and stimulate the economy through the purchase of goods and services. It worked in helping us escape the "Great Depression", the difference was the firm grip, held on the rein by the mustached mascot.

Succumbing to the screaming from the social issues sector, clearly in support of big business interests, instead of job creation, where clearly these folks would surely have had to have used these funds for daily life issues, making it's way back into the banks and financial institutions where all good capital migrates to eventually anyway, relieving the stress brought on by bad investments, loans, and corporate excess, the funds went directly into these same failed institutions, that were counted on to execute these goals voluntarily, because "it is the right thing to do".

So far, for the unemployed...nada! So I guess it remains to be seen, how much, if any of those funds will be used, because "it is the right thing to do", or if it will simply be hoarded by the same 10% of the population that has raped and robbed, and made off with 90% of this nations wealth thus far. Will Americans eventually wake up, and agree to disagree on social issues long enough to focus on the issue of job creation, or have Americans come to accept 10% unemployment, after all?Originally published on SearchWarp.com for David Levitt Wednesday, August 04, 2010

Virtual Jobs - Legit Work At Home

Legit work at home virtual jobs. Make money online. Work at home. These are some of the search terms used to try and find the real companies that hire home workers. The vast majority of people searching are thinking they just don’t exist. You search till the scams get you down. You just want a break in finding the right work at home job for you. You want the freedom of making your own schedule. You want to spend more time with your family. You have kids to raise and need a flexible schedule. Whatever the reason, the agony of searching is leaving you to believe they are so hidden that it may be impossible to find.
Wouldn’t you like to be a virtual assistant, or a customer service rep working at home? Is it worth the effort to enjoy the time freedom and stay home for the reasons that you have? You bet it is! There are so many jobs available it is mind boggling! With so many companies downsizing and outsourcing, why not keep those jobs right here in the US? Guess what…. they do! And they hire people to work at home to save expenses. You can get a job answering inbound calls for infomercial products and help customers place their orders. That’s one of the easiest and in high demand virtual jobs available. Virtual assistants, data entry, transcribers, web designers, and too many more to list.
Now you definitely want to make sure you have a great resume. Work at home jobs are in a very high demand. Over 5000 people a day are searching for a real job at home and when they find a good company, of coarse they apply. These companies get an average of 200 or more applications a day! Wow, now I hope you understand why a good resume is recommended. You want to stand out in the crowd and be on top of their selection process. One tip is to have an objective or summary as the first thing to be read after your name and info. With so many applications, most are being skimmed over to find the right person for the job.

Call Center Work From Home - Find a Legitimate Work from Home Job - get the Little White eBook of Homeshoring Jobs

Homeshoring Brings
Legitimate Work-at-Home JobsInto American Homes

By: Melissa Brewer
Imagine a commute that is just down the hallway, a few minutes from your favorite gourmet coffeepot and the Monday morning news. You plug in your headset to the phone, boot your computer, and begin taking calls for your client. After 30 minutes of call time, you move on to a scheduled break to tend to a few errands around the house. You get another cup of coffee, finish a few small household tasks, and return to your desk to begin taking calls again. Your schedule is flexible, and you can have all the breaks you need from the comfort of your own home. You’re paid anywhere from $7.00 to $30.00 an hour, and you work not just the hours – but the minutes – that you choose. Sound like another work from home scam? Or simply too good to be true? Think again.
The rise of homeshoring employers has paved the way to legitimate work-from-home careers that allow flexibility for a whole new workforce – including work at home moms and dads, caretakers, military spouses, people with unique medical needs and the differently abled. So, what is homeshoring, exactly? Homeshoring, in its simplest form, is the use of home-based employees by businesses, big and small, to handle their call center functions effectively with the use of home-based workers. Homeshoring companies have made the decision to keep their call centers virtual – but within their own parameters, country and control. Homeshoring moves jobs out of high-overhead call centers and into the homes of US workers, rather than out of the country. Homeshoring cuts costs, but not corners, when it comes to saving money and creating valuable contacts with customers.

So who hires home-based workers for their call centers?

Homeshoring companies range from outsourcing partners (such as Convergys and LiveOps) to large corporations looking to save operating costs for their call center components. Companies such as JetBlue send their workers home and have an added benefit when weather problems force call overflows – they can call on their home-based workers to pick up the slack. Other companies outsource their calls to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO’s) firms such as Alpine Access or LiveOps. Office Depot and Virginia Atlantic outsource their customer service needs to virtual agent call-center firms, which are often small or midsize businesses. The call centers then hire home-based workers or create independent contractor agreements.
Some virtual call centers only hire home-based contractors with their own business set-up, so that their workers can operate under their own small corporations or LLC’s. Homeshoring also provides a flexible and adjustable workforce for companies that often are sent into chaos with call overflow. The flexibility work for employees, too. Often, ahomeshoring agent can schedule work shifts in time periods as short as 15 minutes. According to the Gartner group, 10% of all call centers in the US plan on employing home-based agents in the near future. There are currently 112,000 home-based agents in the U.S., according to IDC. By 2010, there 330,000 home-based workers are expected to be working in the US alone.
Homeshoring is here to stay and is expected to become a standard practice for companies that need to find new ways to retain excellent employees at a fraction of the cost of maintaining a brick and mortar call center. A search online can uncover dozens of companies that hire homeshoring workers, but the top homeshoring (and most competitive) employers are listed below:
